Currently, Mike performs with his own band "Mike Black and The Stingrays" performing 50's and 60's Rock n' Roll with a touch of country just to make things interesting.  The band has been together for more than 12 years now.  Mike and his band have performed with such legends as  Bill Haley's Comets, Percy Sledge, The Byrds, The Grass Roots and Eddie Raven.  They have played venues like The Myriad, The Fairgrounds Arena, Remington Park, Shangri-La Resort, The Oklahoma Country Music Association and have appeared on radio and television programs.

In 1994, Mike competed in the C.M.A.A. (Country Music Associations of America) talent and awards show in Las Vegas, Nevada winning the MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR finishing ahead of competitors from 46 other states!  This award holds national recognition.

In 1995, Mike competed in the O.C.M.A (Oklahoma Country Music Association) talent competition and was chosen the 1995 MALE ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR and represented Oklahoma again on the national level winning the C.M.A.A. 1995 MALE ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR award.  Mike was also recognized as CO-SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR for his song SAY YOU LOVE ME and TOP OVERALL ENTERTAINER FOR 1995.

Mike competed in the O.C.M.A talent competition again in 1996 and once again was chosen as MALE ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR which sent him back to Las Vegas where he won the C.M.A.A. RISING STAR AWARD.

Mike continues to play with the Stingrays and does Elvis impressions for many events and parties.  His recent CD "A TRIBUTE TO THE KING" features 12 Elvis favorites that were recorded at Graham Pugh's studio.  Mike plans to record another CD in the near future.
